Why Choose GOALS?

GOALS serves students in elementary school through college. We work with exceptional students, typical students and we are especially well-versed in working with neuro-diverse students. We meet regularly with students who have 504 Plans, IEPs and private school accommodations. Our neuroscience based approach, created by Phillip Roberts, is unlike institutional tutoring companies. An individualized approach helps each student by creating systems and cultivating habits that unlock their true potential.

GOALS tutoring and EF support for students

How do I know if GOALS is right for my student?

My student needs help with:

Being organized, time management and staying on top of their academic work

Content support: critical reading/writing, math, science, political science, AP class support, honors class support, and more

Transitioning to middle school, high school, college, and other life stages

My student could use support with all of the above!

I suspect that my student has a learning disability or EF disorder, or was just diagnosed with one. Now what?

I need some parent coaching on how to manage my student and their academics at home

How does this work?

Free parent consultation

Schedule a phone call with one of our executive staff members who will provide you with information about GOALS philosophy, services and rates. We will also gather student academic history and data and discuss your educational goals and philosophy. We will work to understand your whole student (strengths, challenges, interests, personality) and their academic needs. We will answer any questions that you may have and ensure that you are comfortable that GOALS is a good match for your student.

Student intake meeting

If you choose to move forward, we will schedule your student intake meeting during your free parent consultation phone call. All intake meetings are scheduled with senior staff members. While parents attend intake meetings, the student is the driver of these meetings. We spend time getting to know your student and listening to their viewpoint. Since GOALS is 100% student buy-in based, we want to ensure that your student understands GOALS. We will also review evaluations, 504 Plans, IEPs, and private school accommodations.

Recommendation & scheduling

At the end of your student’s intake meeting we will make a recommendation on the combination of GOALS services that will serve your student best. If everyone is in agreement, we will set a repeating weekly schedule for your student based on their availability and the availability of their matched staff member(s). GOALS takes great care to match your student with the right, experienced staff member(s) who will guide your student to growth and independence.

Get started

We know that you want to see your student working on their new skills as quickly as possible, and we will work to get them on the calendar equally quickly. After each session, you will receive detailed notes that will give you a window into what your student is learning and how to support your student at home. We will also schedule quarterly meetings with you, your student and your student’s coach/tutor so that you have the opportunity to gain deeper insight and understanding of your student’s learning process. Creating and practicing new habits and skills takes time! Patience while your student does the hard work to make these changes will pay off. And we guarantee that they will have a bit of fun along the way!
